LaSorte – blog

Aloha! We have added a new producer from the Veneto which we are directly importing called La Sorte. There are two wines, a Ripasso and an Amarone, and both are extremely impressive for their price points. Both are made with the traditional varieties of the region; Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara.  They are big but balanced wines, and for now anyway, they do require some air before they strut their stuff.

Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso 2014

This is a deep, rich Ripasso with black cherry aromas and flavors intertwined with espresso, kitchen spice and cassis notes. There is good acidity, smooth texture, and just a hint of tannin on an elegant finish.

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2013

Intense garnet red with a strong, persistent, ethereal and fruity bouquet with hints of black cherries and prunes, floral notes and sweet spice aromas. Full bodied and rich, backed by structured, yet velvety tannins.
